Looking for some Booze [open]

Who: Crowley & ____?
When: Early Evening
Where: City Center

Crowley was pissed.  He was alone in this strange city.   Somewhere in his mind he wondered if Adam had something to do with all of this.  He didn't think the anti-christ would have, but he wasn't about to put it past him.  Maybe he got bored.

What Crowley needed now was a stiff drink.  He got out of the car and leaned against it.  Where was Aziraphale when he needed him.  At least if he were there they could get drunk together.

Claire saw the unfamiliar man leaning against the car. She was walking home from the grocery store, a bottle of Jack she'd grabbed swinging in one hand. As usual, her outfit was carefully selected. Today it was simpler than usual- a little black dress and killer black heels. She tilted her head when she saw the man.

"Howdy," she said. She put out a hand. "Claire Baxter. You look about as happy to be here as I am."

"My story?" she asked. "It's terribly boring unless you find falling into a mirror after extremely regrettable se- er, actions- interesting." She shook her head and opened the bottle, taking a small sip. "What about you? Oh and I'm as happy as a clam. At low tide."

She laughed. "That's a shame," she said. "But, yes, having an awesome ride makes it much better." She held out the bottle of Jack with a friendly smile.

She was watching him with interest.

"So where are you from?" she asked.

Howl had just figured out that someone had been cleaning his house for the past few days. He wasn't sure who was doing it, and Calcifer wasn't going to tell him either, which throughly annoyed him. Instead of waiting around in hopes to see who the person might be he decided to go out on the town and stay out as much as possible. Which was very boring in a near empty city. He could go visit the mermaid but he wanted to go back when he had a spectacular spell for her.

"There aren't even pubs to go hang out in" he muttered to himself while walking down the street. Ahead of him there seamed to be two people talking. "I have had only one good encounter do I really want to see what other sorts of trouble are waiting for me in this nightmare land?" he muttered again. but he couldn't help it he had to stop when he came near enough. "Its nice to know that it isn't possible to go days without seeing a single person" he said politely.

His dress could only be described as grand. any other word would simply not capture the feeling of it, it was not a modern look he looked like he may have been an actor in some sort of period style fantasy. Light green eyes glanced at the man and the woman as he brushed bleached platinum hair back.

"Ooh," she said. "I was wondering about the accent. I'm from Los Angeles...Palm Springs more recently. So what'd you do in London?" She was giving him a friendly smile.

Howl just watched the two talking back at forth. Part of him wanted to make a show of his presence but another part had more sense then that. He'd acted out enough recently. The man wasn't human he knew that off that bat, the woman was though. That meant the city had no digression when it came to human demon or magic user, or mermaid for that matter. He put these to the back of his mind as he watched the two.

The image of this demon before him in a London office consulting people was amusing, and he tried not to laugh. Even if the man seamed more or less present he didn't have any desire to be on the wrong side of a demon. He had enough trouble in and out of this city already.

With a smile he decided to break into there conversation again. "Yes sadly, I was pulled away from pressing matters as well. I take it both of you were plucked from your homes as if toys as well?"

"I sold perfumes," Claire told Crowley.

Claire noticed Howl and flashed him a smile. "Wow, it's a party," she commented. "And, yes, I was..."

He shrugged in an element manner "None at all. But I have not really sat down to think about it much, and I know for a fact I would need help. The," he paused a bit saying too much would be bad, and deep down inside he was going over the sorts of things that happen when consorting with none humans and how he really didn't want any of those things to happen to himself. On top of all that he was going over good ways to run away if the need came up. A coward he was but cowards lived longer. "Resources at my disposal are not the best for here."

He looked to the woman and nodded. "All of us out of out element."

[identity profile] claire-baxter.livejournal.com 2008-02-23 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Claire nodded, a little comforted by Howl. At least he wasn't pretending everything was great here the way most of the people she talked to did.

[identity profile] claire-baxter.livejournal.com 2008-02-23 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Claire bit her lip. "I don't get it, though...how could we ever leave?"

She got the feeling Crowley and Howl both knew something she didn't.

Howl preferred to work by himself as well. But sometimes you had to make sacrifices, and he knew for a fact he would never be able to find a way out himself. "I was happy where I was, I liked it there. I was in the middle of important affairs, and the fact that I have lost the path to a very important place is doubly annoying." He sighed a bit shaking his head.

"Well, one can assume that this place is another world separate from the worlds we are familiar which, each one being different. Once we figure out the nature of this world, and where it might be in relation to others, we can start figuring out which way is each world we are from. Though I don't know if we have access to outside worlds from here, and I have no idea what world this place is nor do I have the means to figure out such an amount. theres endless amount of worlds and I knew the ones near mine."

[identity profile] wicked-howell.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 08:32 am (UTC)(link)
Howl was taken back by the eyes just a bit. He was a coward, but it seamed more cowardly to stay. He took the mans hand and shook it, a present smile upon his face, as if practiced. If anything Howl did it was make sure he looked nice in every way, when he was out to impress at least.

"I'm" he paused just a bit, what to use what to use well it was easier to use his name wasn't it. "Wizard Howl. Its a pleasure to meat you."

After taking his hand away he thought about the idea of working with something that... seamed so demon. Would it kick him in the ass if he rejected the offer, or would it be troublesome to accept. He chose to just not answer one way or the other.

[identity profile] wicked-howell.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Howl had not run into many wizards himself. The world he was from had very few, in fact he only knew of one other and they had fled to the world he had in the end. But he was from a world that did not particularly practice magic.

"I see no reason to deny my profession at the moment." he said trying to keep nice and bite off that sarcastic edge he nearly went towards. "If you're looking for a good place there are none. I am going to guess though that there will be an empty store filled with whatever it is you would like to get drunk on. How any decent person can properly get drunk like that I would never know." Howl wanted a pub! With people and maybe a TV.

[identity profile] wicked-howell.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Howl gave a nonchalant shrug. "I haven't bothered to see if there was an end to the city sprawl." There was no need after all, since it was a different world it didn't matter how far he could walk. "All I know is there is this world, and there are other worlds. and right now I can't figure out where MY world is in relation." he wouldn't say he hadn't bothered to try to open any doors either.

[identity profile] wicked-howell.livejournal.com 2008-02-28 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
He shrugged again. "If there is it doesn't realy matter either way dose it?" he sighed a bit. Even if they had access to this entire world, or even if the city its self was the entire world it made no difference.

There was something about the man that was nagging at him. Something that just felt a little out of place. And then it hit him and without thinking through with it first he spoke out. "Why does a demon speak like a Londoner? Not that I won't area London is full of demons."

[identity profile] wicked-howell.livejournal.com 2008-02-28 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
he just stared for a bit. He hadn't actually thought Howl was under the impression that London was full of real demons? No one he ran across was of any decent use!

"I did not mean in the actual use as a species term...." he began slowly. He wanted a good drink, this was making him depressed.

[identity profile] wicked-howell.livejournal.com 2008-02-28 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
Less and less sense as time went on. "I'm sorry?"

[identity profile] wicked-howell.livejournal.com 2008-02-28 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
"I see..." he wasn't sure what to say anymore. "Well sadly we are all stuck here. It would be best to not dwell to much on what we've lost. Just look forward to getting back."

Howl did take a few steps back. He would rather be around a proper demon then one that was incoherent and was acting like his best friend had died.

[identity profile] wicked-howell.livejournal.com 2008-02-28 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
"No one said to," he sighed. The man was exasperating. "Then work on doing something about it. Most the people in this city can't figure out much on there own anyway."

[identity profile] wicked-howell.livejournal.com 2008-02-28 09:15 am (UTC)(link)
Howl took another step back. He was in hell wasn't he. He had to be. He could not think of a better explanation for the things he had run into so far.

"Good good. If you find anything out please give me a shout," his words were smooth as his feet slowly steeped back some more. After he felt like he was a good bit away he raised his hand in a wave "I think I shall go home now. I fear there are things I need to take care of." The retreat was quick as if the man was a practiced avoider.
