Oh, Great...

Who: Crowley, Christopher, Vicki, and ...?
Date and time: March 19, night
Where: City Park, Hospital
Rating: Worksafe, language
Summary: Crowley's unusually quiet, which may not be all that good...

Crowley grumbled and walked the park. It reminded him slightly of St. James park as there was a pond with ducks in it looking expectantly at him. Of course he didn't have any bread crumbs, that was the angel's duty. He was, in fact, eating an apple. He'd grown rather fond of the fruit over the many centuries.

And now that he was here, it seemed the angel was bound and determined to be locked in his bookshop. Joy. Now that Crowley had rational company that he, dare I say it, enjoyed, the bastard was hiding again. Crowley wondered just how bad it could be if they stayed here. He rather liked his world. He understood it. And this place was eccentric at best, downright bat shit crazy at worst.

He skipped a rock over the pond, narrowly avoiding a duck (that was now flying off with a start). He took another bite of the apple.

Christopher, who had recently found more appropriate cloths, was trying to get an idea of the strange city. He had gone over a lot of the streets from the mall to the park, and thought he would take a rest there. With black hair properly combed, and a fine suit with lovely shoes acquired he walked down the paths looking at the trees soon finding himself at the pond.

He saw another person standing at the waters edge and walked up to them. So far he had only met one person and was hoping to meet as many as possible. If he could get a better idea perhaps he could understand what had brought him there.

"Hallo," he said cheerfully. "If you were trying to hit the duck you didn't aim quite well."

And there it was. Whether the slumped shape in the far darkness of the park was -always- there, or just appeared between one heartbeat and the next, is not entirely clear. What does matter is that the form is there now, but not moving. As Crowley wound his way lazily through the park, the shape of the form grew clearer and clearer. It looked distinctly like a body.

Vicki Nelson lay in a crumpled position exactly the way she'd fallen in the abandoned lab at the Life Science's building. Her body was twisted unnaturally in a way no human would ever choose to lay down, legs twisted the opposite way of her shoulders. Her dirty blonde hair spilled all across her face and some blood trickled down through the locks, crusting them to the edge of her forehead and glasses which lay askew upon her cheeks. She looked like a broken, discarded doll, bent so badly she'd been thrown out with the trash.

"Thats good, it wouldn't have been very kind to be aiming at the poor things. They never did anything to anyone." Christopher blinked a bit as the man looked around sniffing. What an odd thing to do, but then it could be quite normal for whatever this place was, or wherever the man was from.

"Is something wrong?" The boy asked simply curious.

Blood indeed was heavy on the air. The worst was the laceration on her forehead, but skin had been ripped in many areas from the fight previous, as well as Vicki's wrist still being bandaged across the bite from having fed Henry earlier in the night. Well, in her night. Night where she was. Who knew how late it was in this strange area.

Still, she was unconscious. Whether her body hadn't realized the change, or the concussion was still settling it wasn't entirely clear, but she didn't move upon the grass. As one grew closer, they could see a fit woman probably in her early thirties. She wore a pair of dark blue jeans though they were ripped ragged in a few areas from the fight. Dark sneakers hid her feet and matched the black tank top and black leather jacket that she wore on her upper half. Though her body lay twisted, it was clear she was quite fit, possibly some sort of trained athlete or military woman.

[identity profile] enchanter-chant.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Christopher went forward, and knelt down next to the woman when he finally saw her. This was bad, she would need to see someone, but all he knew of this place was the great massive building with all the stores in it that was called a 'mall' where was a doctor?

"This woman needs help," he reached over to lift up her head, you always did that with injured people. "Where is there a doctor?" Though he was young he was trying to take command of the situation as if he were entitled, even known so little as he did. "I don't know enough to help her I can only clean the blood off and the dirt."

[identity profile] vickie-nelson.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Hurt or not, Vicki's instincts were honed. She'd been shocked, concussed, through her mother's death, funeral, and then her mother dying again. Needless to say, her body hadn't been the quickest to respond at first. But now there were people touching her and the left over adrenaline kicked back in even if the fight was long over. The last thing Vicki had known was a mad scientist throttling her with that long, bent metal shelf.

Now feeling a touch on her shoulder, she waited until she could get a brief sense of position and she reacted on instinct alone. Just as Christopher's hands were coming down to her head, Vicki jerked up, her right had in a fist to give a vicious right cross in the direction of Crowley's chin. She panted hard, body in over drive once more as she instinctively prepared for a fight. Once through the punch she scrambled backwards, fingertips trying to reach for her gun tucked in the back of her pants.

[identity profile] enchanter-chant.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
The woman seamed rather lively for someone who was obviously hurt badly. He wasn't sure what to do, didn't you usually put those sorts to sleep? But, you weren't suppose to sleep if you hit your head. He felt at a loss.

"Excuse me madam, but you do not look well at all. Perhaps we could find somewhere and see to your wounds, then we can discuss what is going on?" Christopher did not act as if this was unusual behavior, though deep down inside he was at a loss, he was just good at bluffing.

[identity profile] vickie-nelson.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
It took Vicki another second to actually get her gun out of the back of her pants. Hurt or not, bleeding or not, she wasn't going to let them get the jump on her again. Of course, in the dim light she could barely even see them save for two vague shapes in the shadows. Her night vision was pretty much gone even with her glasses on. Still, she kept her gun leveled in their mutual directions as she backed up a few feet, only slightly limping. Adrenaline was a great pain killer.

"I want to see my mother's body. Where did you put her??" Vicki growled out carefully, flickering a brief look over her shoulders but she could see -nothing- in the shadows. If her mother's corpse was still near, and that seemed unlikely, she couldn't see it no matter how much she wanted. She breathes out hard, trying to get a sudden bearing on her surroundings. This wasn't the lab any more. The smell of death in the air was gone. What the hell had that woman done to her? "...Where am I?" She demanded, a touch more calmly than before but still with a severe, commanding tone to her husky voice.

[identity profile] enchanter-chant.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Christopher let the older man talk, keeping his gaze to the odd woman. He wasn't sure what was going on, but it seemed quite obvious that she had found herself here when in the middle of something very important. He didn't know what to say in that situation so chose to not say anything.

He continued to sit meetly on the ground, only adjusting himself slightly to be more comfortable. "This realy is an interesting city."

[identity profile] vickie-nelson.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Vicki didn't let her gun waver in the least, still too much riding on these moments to let her guard down. God, she hurt. She just wanted to scream, or cry, or do anything possible to reach out and find her mother alive again and now she wasn't even anywhere near the woman's body. Vicki frowned at Crowley's first words, and then the other man's exclamation about this place being an interesting city.

"Not in my... world? I was in Kingston. Ontario. You know, up in Canada. I can't imagine I've gotten all that far. Did you see a girl? Blonde hair, blue eyes? Lab coat? She... she must have left me here. Gotten rid of the bodies, so to speak." Vicki's adrenaline was quickly ebbing as she realized that Catherine was gone, Number Nine was finally, truly dead, and her mother was no where near here. There was nothing more that she could do so her body was stopping the fight.

[identity profile] enchanter-chant.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sadly it appears to be as he says. I too found myself here unexpectedly. I don't think this is anywhere near Canada, I myself came from the English Alps before I ended up here." He wondered what sort of situation she had been in, whatever it was it looked like it had been life or death.

"I still think someone should look at you before there are anymore questions. But," he shrugged. "If you don't care about that no one can force you."

[identity profile] vickie-nelson.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Very, very slowly, Vicki began to lower her weapon. These men were innocents as much as she was and this place was not Canada. It was warmer, for one. The grass was fresh and springy, not dead and dried from the winter. There was no park in Kingston set up like this. She couldn't see really, but all of her other senses tended to compensate for that in the dark. And her simple instinct said something was very, very wrong. Beyond her dead mother knocking on the window wrong. This was demon summoning wrong.

She released a shaken little breath as she finally tucked her gun back into the waist of her jeans, making certain the safety is still on before her slightly trembling hands fell back to her side. "I... I can clean it up in a bit. I don't think it's too bad." Or she's in shock, but then she'd been numbed since she got the phone call about her mother's death. This was no different from that. "Where -are- we, then?"

[identity profile] enchanter-chant.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Sadly I must take the gentleman's word for it. I only just found myself here recently," he spoke while getting to his feet. "My name is Christopher" He gave a small formal bow. "I don't know who this man is."

[identity profile] vickie-nelson.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Vicki nodded quietly in their directions, "I'm Vicki. Vicki Nelson. I'm a private investigator out of Toronto. I'm here with ... Or, I was with Mike Celluci, Toronto Police. Don't suppose any of that matters right now." She breathes out slowly, offering her hand in Crowley's direction, then towards Christopher. She's managed to keep to her feet this long but now that adrenaline is mostly worn off she's looking just a touch shaky. Still, for as bad as she looked when she was down she must be a spitfire tough girl.

[identity profile] enchanter-chant.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Lets go there, they should have bandages and stuff at least." He took her hand to shake it, and then offered an arm if she felt she needed to lean on him.

Turning to Crowley he looked a bit surprised. "You have a car? can I see it later?"

[identity profile] vickie-nelson.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
(Taking this to a fresh reply so we aren't all text-squished)

[identity profile] vickie-nelson.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Vicki's stubbornness fought with the fact that she actually felt a bit nauseated from this whole mess and with adrenaline wearing off, soreness was setting in. She looked down to the bandage on her wrist from earlier, it still spotted with blood among her fresh injuries. She finally nodded. "Alright. Just for some bandages, then I need to find a way out of here. Some mad scientists deserve a severe ass beating and I'm going to be the one to give it." Vicki growled out quietly, anger giving her the strength to go on when really nothing else could right now.

Still, though she'd never admit it, she did silently accept Christopher's arm. It was better to lean on him than to lose all of her self respect by collapsing on the grass.

[identity profile] enchanter-chant.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Christopher was disappointed they couldn't have taken the car. He never got to see them that often, and De Witt seamed to be all against them. He knew when he grew up he would have a car, at least one, if not several like Stallery had.

"I'm sure if we can just wash the mess off it won't be so bad. People have survived thousands of hears without doctors." He said cheerfully gladly supporting Vickie, it was as if for the moment it was all a game ending up in this place.

[identity profile] vickie-nelson.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Vicki was walking slow, slightly limping, but she wouldn't let herself lag behind or make them go slow, so she forced herself to pick up speed just a bit. By the time they were at the hospital, she was slightly breathless and leaning a touch heavier against Christopher's arm. She shook her head at the question of a doctor, "No, no. I'm fine. I just need a bit of cleaning up, really. Mainly just bruises." She reassured them, her voice stubborn, though numbly quiet.

She reached one hand up, tenderly brushing fingertips against the edge of her viciously bruised head. That was the worst of it, she suspected. That single, fell blow from the edge of the metal shelf which had been pulled from the wall.

[identity profile] enchanter-chant.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
"I hope so," he said in response to Vickie continuing to suport her as they walked down the halls of the hospital.

Christopher looked around as if he had never seen a hospital before. Stopping to stare at various machines and screens. When the got to the examination room he lead Vickie to a place to sit. It was so alien to him simple and flat, though it wasn't so much different then the one time he had been in the hospital. But somehow it felt a lot different, there were definitely a lot more things buzzing about. He reached out to pull on some box with wires coming out of it to a pad. It looks like something he had seen before, but, was so different then anything he had ever seen. "What is this?" he asked pointing to it. "There are a lot of funny things in this world, like the low magic worlds usually have."

[identity profile] vickie-nelson.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
Vicki stepped across the room, blinking at the bright light as her sensitive eyes suddenly, finally, came back into focus. At least she could see again. She heads towards the sink as soon as she spots it, turning on the hot water so she can start cleaning off the blood. Clean or not, this place reminded her too much of the damned labs she just escaped from 10 minutes previous.

"Alright, so, boys, how the hell do you get out of this place? Guessing some... damned demon pulled me here or something. That's the best guess I'd have, if we're talking a different... Dimension or something?" Vicki usually didn't speak quite freely about these things, but considering the great amount of weirdness that was happening here she couldn't help but imagine they were used to a hint of weirdness.

[identity profile] enchanter-chant.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
"I haven't heard of any demons capable of this, but then theres lots of things out there that people just don't know." He sighed a bit leaving the odd medical device alone. "I haven't been able to figure out how to leave yet, so I think we might be stuck."

[identity profile] vickie-nelson.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Vicki paused in her cleaning, a frown crossing her full mouth as she considered those words, "Now, I've heard a hell of a lot is impossible and never been beaten yet, boys. Just a matter of figuring things out. So, give me the specs here. What is going on?" She inquires straight forwardly, her voice all business. In fact, she very much sounds like a cop, if either of the men are familiar with mortal police.

[identity profile] enchanter-chant.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Ive only been here a few days, I realy don't know. It seems a lot of people are from different worlds and things are just... here when needed." He gave a small shrug.

[identity profile] vickie-nelson.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
Vicki hisses quietly as she gently touches around the bad bruise and blood upon her forehead. That -hurt-. She had little doubt she was concussed, but it wouldn't be the first time. She had a hard enough head to get through it anyway. She gently pats some blood free before wringing out the wash cloth she was using to clean her wounds and rewetting it. The pain and working on her wounds was the only thing really keeping her from slightly losing it. Between being jerked here and her mother finally, truly dead, Vicki might very well lose it should she stop moving and stop forcing herself to work or think for just one moment.

"A month? Well, we just have to track down whoever the hell brought us here and get them to put us back. There have to be clues around, whatever it was that did this."

[identity profile] enchanter-chant.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
"The person could be quite powerful, personally I would rather learn a bit about our possible abductor before trying to confront them." He hoped there was a way out, he wasn't sure if De Witt would keep his promise to Millie if he wasn't there, the thought of Millie made him wonder if she was looking for him, did she know what happened? Surly she would look like he had looked for her.

"Sadly the only person I have met here so far, has only been able to tell me of this big building called a mall."

[identity profile] vickie-nelson.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
Vicki nodded in quiet agreement at the comment about getting to know their abductor before actually confronting them. She sighed quietly, turning to face some sort of mirror and actually give a look to the vicious, ragged cut across her temple. This was much easier to do on other people, really.

"I agree. We can't just dive into things, but we will have to start gathering information. I... I'll have to find a hotel, somewhere to sleep, then you gentlemen can contact me there if you hear anything else. Of course, any information I get I will share as well."

[identity profile] enchanter-chant.livejournal.com 2008-03-21 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
As much as Christopher was at an age to not automatically trust adults, the ordeal he had gone through just before coming her was putting him in a mind to let the adults do as they would and not speak up much right now. Let them make the decisions, he would follow the ones that made sense to him.

"I found a lovely four poster bed in one of the stores in that big mall department store. But I would rather not live in a store. Is there anywhere to get a bite to eat as well?" He didn't want to admit it but he hadn't eaten well in the past few days, and he would rather conserve his energy for something important then conjuring meals.

[identity profile] vickie-nelson.livejournal.com 2008-03-22 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
"I... really don't have much money on me, and I rent a perfectly good apartment back in Toronto." Vicki stated flatly as she finally finished cleaning out the wound on her head and now went to the few wounds, one of her wrist and the other on her leg. She's a bit quicker with these, they aren't as deep or long. She got lucky on most of them though, especially the leg wound. Another inch or two and it would have hit the femoral artery.

"Food would be good. Hopefully we won't be here long enough to need it. Just a matter of finding the creature that put us here, be it demon... Angel... or whatever... and get them to put us back."

[identity profile] enchanter-chant.livejournal.com 2008-03-22 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"To live in empty buildings. It sounds like an adventure," Christopher began with a smile. "I do hope that there is someone or somewhere that can make some food, or perhaps already made." he went over to the door hoping the others were ready.

"Theres an entire near deserted city waiting to be explored. So come on." He was amazed at his own calmness. Perhaps the true reality of his situation had not completely sunk in, or in the way of youths, he simple thought of himself as untouchable.

[identity profile] vickie-nelson.livejournal.com 2008-03-23 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
A tired, not really felt chuckle crossed Vicki's lips as she heard Christopher's enthusiasm. Was she -ever- that young? it didn't feel like it. Still, she was aching, and wanted to raid the hospital for more than a bit of bandaging. She didn't need either of these men seeing just how hurt she felt, so this was a good way out.

"You two go on. I'm going to stick back here and finish up then do some exploring. If this place is as small as you say, well... I no doubt will see both you boys again." She flashed them both a business like, smooth smile.
